Georgia Cecile
A Night of Scottish Jazz
Preceeded by Fergus McCreadie
Friday, September 24, 2021
Time: 19:30
Location: Belltable

At the helm of the new wave of UK jazz, Cécile has been receiving acclaim from audiences and critics on the strength
of recent live and online performances during lockdown. Previous single ‘Blue Is Just A Colour’ premiered on BBC
Radio 2’s Jamie Cullum show, following sell-out shows at UK jazz festivals including Edinburgh, Glasgow and London.
Having picked up ‘Best Vocalist’ at the 2019 Scottish Jazz Awards, Cécile was also nominated for ‘Vocalist of the Year’
at the Jazz FM Awards 2020. Taking inspiration from the likes of Sarah Vaughan, Nina Simone and Stevie Wonder,
Cecile’s eagerly anticipated debut album, due for release summer 2021 features top flight international players;
Euan Stevenson on piano, Mario Caribé on bass, and Max Popp on drums. The record will also feature live horns and
strings, with Cécile and Stevenson co-producing the record.
She says; “I’m so grateful to now be sharing new music, and can’t wait to perform live again as soon as possible. In
the meantime, I hope ‘Always Be Right For Me’ brings some joy and light to what has been a pretty dark summer.”
‘Always Be Right For Me’ was released on 18th September 2020 and is available for streaming.
