Formed in 2012 by Cork Trombonist/Composer/Arranger as a creative outlet for his own compositions, The Paul Dunlea Big Band utilises Ireland’s finest jazz improvising talent and big band virtuosi. The bands most recent project saw them collaborate with six singer songwriters from across all genres of music. The artists had they’re own music re-worked and re-arranged for big band for what was a really unique performance. The concert was a sell – out at the Cork Opera House
Paul Dunlea has been at the centre of Irish big band jazz for the past ten years, performing regularly with the Dublin City Jazz Orchestra and Hothouse Big Band in addition to touring with small groups and performing and arranging for multiple broadcasts and recording sessions.
