Now based in Perth, Western Australia, Jamie was the winner of the 2003 White Foundation World Saxophone Competition, was named Australian Jazz Musician of the Year at the 2007 Bell Awards, as well as winning the Best Jazz Release category and is now coordinator of Jazz Studies at the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts.
He has performed with leading international jazz artists in the United States, Asia, India, UK, Europe, New Zealand and throughout Australia and frequently performs at jazz clubs and festivals throughout the world.

Jamie has performed in the United States, Asia, India, UK, Europe, New Zealand and throughout Australia with leading international jazz artists like Charlie Haden, , Eric Harland,, Ronnie Scott,  and James Morrison, and with groups like the Australian Art Orchestra,  Paul Grabowsky Quartet/Qunitet and Sextet, Blowfish and the Paul Williamson Sextet.
The Quartet will be made up with fellow Aussie and recent winner of The Barry Harris Award pianist Tal Cohen and Limerick duo bassist Peter Hanagan and drummer John Daly.

Tal Cohen’s unique piano style owes its roots to the Jewish folk songs and classical music he played in his formative years growing up in Israel. After moving to Australia Tal studied at the prestigious Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts where he completed a bachelor degree, honours and masters in jazz performance.

“Yellow Sticker”, Tal’s first album as a leader, was released in December 2011. The album has already had extensive radio airplay and reviews in Australia and on radio stations around Los Angeles and was also featured in full length on Israeli radio station, Reshet Bet in April 2012. After moving to Miami to teach and continue studying, in 2015 Tal was the winner of the Barry Harris Piano Competition in Detroit, USA.
